Is 3gb of ram enough to run a virtual windows server 2008 r2?
I plan on creating a virtual machine through virtual box or hyper v that will run a windows server 2008 R2. My laptop only has 3gb of ram. I was wondering if this is enough to run both systems? I don't want to ruin my production from my host computer.

It sure is, you can dedicate 512MB of RAM to a virtual machine and it's still possible to run it, I gave mine 1GB and 1 dedicated core and it runs fine and that was on an pentium dual core with 2GB of RAM, shouldn't be a problem Smile
