USB Wifi with ps3 error!?
I just bought this usb wifi adaptor for the computer so I can play wireless with my ps3 on the internet.
Unfortunately, it didn't come with a cd or anything, just the usb. The drivers windows downloaded for it are useless and it keeps picking up my phone and not my ps3! Any ideas on how I can get it to pick up my ps3? (PS3 is closer to the usb wifi then my phone so it would have no problem picking it up since it picked up my phone 20 meters away.

Ok before I go too far into this answer I do not claim to be any kind of expert on this at all only a fellow PS3er that became very frustrated trying to keep my console on the internet. First off I would suggest you actually spend the money to buy a wireless router. They are getting pretty cheap and usually pay for themselves pretty quickly.

If that isn't an option (which would explain the ebay purchase) here are a few things to try

PC: First uninstall the software and install the software again (MAKE FOR SURE YOU HAVE THE USB DEVICE UNPLUGGED DURING THIS PROCESS!) a lot of times retarded windows will freak out when a usb is inserted and will pick a generic driver for it which will cause all kinds of problems.

PS3: Once the device is installed you won't try to connect to the PS3 through the USB but the other way around. With your PS3 just do a manual scan for the device. If it doesn't work there could be a possiblity the PS3 just doesn't work with it. If either of the options don't work I'm sorry that's all I can go with you

hope this helps

PS. Make the MTU 1365 on the device! if it's any higher or lower the PS3 will NOT stay connected to the internet and will disable everything else with it
