Help, My WEP key doesn't work?
Hey,
I am having difficulties connecting my second computer to the internet. Prior to my problems, it worked fine but after reinstalling my computer, I cannot connect to my wifi. I have Windows XP Professional, and have installed a wifi driver, and have all the technical components needed, but the problem is in my computer.
It brings up an error message titled 'Network Connections', and the message reads:

"Length of the WEP key material you entered is 8"

- This is my WEP key which works perfectly fine and am certain I typed it correctly.
Then it reads:

"The required lenth is 40bits (5 characters). Please adjust to match"
It then refuses to accept my correct password, and I have tried but cannot bypass this problem.

I really need my computer up and running, as I cannot do my work without it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I would just reset my wep key, and re-enter it into your current devices

Easiest fix is to reset the router to factory preset. Generally there should be a reset button on the router that is in a small hole. You need to use a paper clip to push the reset. Hold it in for 3-5 seconds. You should then be able to start at the beginning and configure it as you like.
