Linux or Windows XP for a server? Windows 7 on primary hard drive and other OS on secondary... Possible?
Ok, I just have a few questions...

What would be more stable for a server? Using Linux or Windows XP or any other Operating System you could think of that would work. I am starting my own private gaming server for some friends, and I was wondering what OS should I use for it?

Also, was wondering... I have Windows 7 Home Premium on my main hard drive. That's where I spend my time configuring and stuff for my private server... I want to install a second operating system on my second hard drive for the server and stuff... Is this possible, I know I have done it with Ubuntu and I just disabled my first IDE hard drive and then it worked out of the box. Can I do the same thing with Windows or any other operating system? Help would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

If I were you I rather use linux..

one of my reason why linux are:
1. security
2. stability
3. less memory needed

about your HDD.. I rather use SATA instead of IDE
