Desktop screens freeze at random. (Vague, I know)?
Hey, Im running a HP Pavilion p6-2418a after updating to windows 8.1 my computer screens started freezing (I have 2 screens). I've cleaned my fans on my PC (It runs at around 58 degrees) and the CPU runs at around 5% to 8%, so I'm not straining it too much. Windows tech support told me its a hardware problem and HP said its a Windows problem.
I'm getting fed up with it crashing when I'm working, so does anyone know how to fix this? My specs are: Intel Core i7 3770 NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 Hard drive: 1 TB Memory: 8 GB If thats not enough specs just google HP Pavilion p6-2418a. Thanks. Ads |

Sounds to me like the driver to your GT 640 needs to be updated. Go to NVIDIA'S website and let them scan your system. You could have the older windows 7 driver in there. Also make sure you check the driver for your monitor.
