Accidentally refreshed Windows 8?
It wasn't very elaborate on what "refresh" was. I assumed it was similar to System Restore. I at least wish it warned me that it would reset the whole f*cking computer. Nothing ever mentioned that. I feel like there should have be a fair amount of warning of losing every program.

I desperately want to know how to restore back to how it was before the "refresh". I don't think I have the patience to redownload and reinstall EVERY program from over the past year without raging.

I read somewhere to try and restore from the windows.old folder but I couldn't figure out how.

Anyway, is there a way to restore all my previously installed programs from the that folder? Or anyway at all? I'm freaking out.

Simple, you can search on google and listen to other responses people have made. Another way is you can go to the place (e.g. dick smith, officeworks, jb - hi - fi) and ask them or just simple go to http://www.windowsphone.com

It should have showed this confirmation message before it started.

It's seems clear about what's going to happen. Personal files and settings will be saved. All other settings reset to default. Windows Store programs saved, all others will be lost. A list of programs lost will be put on the desktop.

Sadly only data can be pulled out of the windows.old folder. All those programs will have to be reinstalled.
