Audio device not functioning?
Hey I recently formatted my laptop and when I came to install my audio driver I faced some problems. Everytime I try to install the driver i get the following message:
"driver installation failed: Could not find the media device for this driver"
And after some digging I found that it is detected but it's under 'Other devices' in Device Manager. I have a PCI device with the yellow question mark thingie by it. I know that it's my audio device because of the location.
Location: PCI bus 0, device 27, function 0
and when I use EVEREST, a software to detect all hardwares on the laptop I get the following:
Bus 0, Device 27, Function 0 Intel 82801GBM ICH7-M - High Definition Audio Controller [A-1]
I tried to update the driver and choose the directory of the driver but it doesn't work.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance =]

your installation disk will have a folder named hotfix. This folder contains a windows update which will help windows to to detect it as audio device. Then you may install the driver as you do.
