How do I remove Antivirus XP 2008? D:?
So when I started my computer, automatically, I get this incredibly fake warning pop-up saying that malware was detected in my computer etc. etc. etc. and there was only the option to agree and download the fake antivirus. I went into windows task manager and ended it, but when I try to look up how to uninstall the program and click any of the links, I get redirected to some random website like yellow pages or such. Even my wallpaper was changed to an image of a quirky looking warning message with a white background. I've tried getting rid of it with Super AntiSpyware, but it seems too bypass the virus and it usually doesn't like that. Is there any other way to get rid of it without to much hassle? ]: [I use a Windows XP Professional Edition and please don't post links to instructions because I get redirected by the malware] Thanks so much C:

it's a good thing that you've ended the process and didn't click to download or install antivirus xp 2008, but the problem is that when you see the pop-ups or system alerts this means that antivirus xp has already infected your computer...

you got three options: reformat drives and reinstall windows; download and run antispyware; follow manual removal guidelines.

i assume you don't want to reinstall windows as your looking for way to get rid of antivirus xp 2008.

you say you get redirected, but you can download antispyware install on another computer and then put it on usb key or cd and then install it on your computer. i see you already got some recommendation about antispyware so i'll recommend you manual removal instructions: http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-antivirus-xp.html you can open the link on another computer and then print the instructions or copy those to usb etc.

It is a rogue anti-spyware program similar to the well known XP Antivirus rogue application.
