How to set an IP address in Windows Home Server? - Badger - 10-15-2012 01:09 PM

hi, I am wanting to connect my windows home server directly to another computer through a crossover cable. and now I need to set an IP address for it so i can connect to it through Internet explorer ( im trying to access it from a x64bit system, so can't use the connection disk) (also there is no internet connection on my windows home server)

Any help would be appreciated
Simple Question: How do I set an IP address on Windows Home Server with no internet connection?

Its simple...

Open Network Connections by clicking on Start > Settings> Network Connections.

Open the properties of the Connection.

Set a Static IP address eg. 192.168.0.10 Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Click on OK.

Follow the same procedure on the other PC. Set IP address as 192.168.0.11 subnet will be same. Click on OK.

Done. Remember the Connection should be enable on both of the PCs.

Try it....
